Job description

Are you looking for a role that combines being in the office, but the variety of spending some time in the warehouse / jumping on a forklift in a busy logistics operation?

Our client is looking for an experienced individual to join the Distribution & Planning team as a General Cargo Coordinator on a full-time basis. 40 hour week 08.00-17.00 Monday – Friday but may in future need to cover a Saturday on a rotational basis depending on customer requirements.

The role will be the main point of contact for customers, hauliers and internal stakeholders for bookings and queries for general cargo. The role will include the updating of internal and external IT systems, ensuring accurate and timely recording of data. The role will also co-ordinate the customs processes for the External Temporary Storage Facility (ETSF).

Desired experience:

  • Good standard of education without being prescriptive.
  • Good standard of IT knowledge, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Experience of Terminal Operating and Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Knowledge of container load planning and IMDG code
  • Good knowledge of customs processes and procedures relating to ETSF, import and export.
  • Experience of stock control and reconciliation.
  • Forklift licence (preferable but training can be provided)
  • Driving licence.
