Overview

I am working with an insurance brokerage who are looking for a motivated Cargo Broker to join their growing team. This opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced setting — confident in managing both clients and underwriters, maintaining accuracy under pressure, and nurturing valuable market relationships.

In this role, you’ll work closely with senior leadership gaining direct exposure to clients, insurers, and leading US producers. You’ll be responsible for managing your own portfolio from initial submission through to binding and post-placement servicing, ensuring every stage of the process is delivered with precision and professionalism.

This is a hands-on, client-facing role that blends technical expertise with strong relationship management skills. We’re seeking someone who takes initiative, works collaboratively, and demonstrates sound commercial judgment in every interaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Risk Administration & Compliance
  • Enter and maintain all new and existing risks across internal platforms with complete and compliant documentation.
  • Ensure all records are audit-ready and meet internal and regulatory standards.
• Placement & Broking Execution
  • Manage submissions, endorsements, and policy documentation with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Liaise confidently with underwriters to secure timely quotes and ensure clear, accurate communication at every stage.
• Market & Underwriter Relations
  • Build and sustain effective relationships with underwriters across key markets.
  • Maintain awareness of facility structures, commission agreements, and underwriting appetites to support optimal placement strategies.
• Client Service & Communication
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for client queries and requests.
  • Deliver accurate, professional, and consistent correspondence aligned with company standards.
• Documentation & Quality Assurance
  • Prepare, review, and verify slips, endorsements, and policies before circulation to internal teams and external markets.
  • Uphold a meticulous approach to quality control in all documentation.
• Organisation & Workflow Management
  • Keep a clear and current record of work-in-progress, renewals, and pipeline activity.
  • Maintain structured filing, email, and task management systems to support productivity and transparency.
• Accuracy & Accountability
  • Take full ownership of the quality and precision of your work.
  • Apply consistent quality checks to all submissions, communications, and deliverables.
• Collaboration & Teamwork
  • Partner with colleagues across broking, operations, and compliance to deliver smooth execution from quotation through to post-bind servicing.
