Job summary

Shire Oak Academy in Walsall is seeking a dedicated Caretaker/Site Operative to join our team. You will be responsible for the security, safety, maintenance and cleanliness of the school site, and you will handle porterage and day-to-day facilities tasks to keep the site running smoothly.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will support health and safety compliance and work as part of our school community to provide a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff.

Qualifications

  • Educated to a satisfactory standard to communicate effectively, both written and oral (Essential)
  • Driving Licence (Essential)
  • Ability to identify work priorities and manage own workload, whilst ensuring that lower priority work is kept up to date (Essential)
  • Ability to act on own initiative, dealing with any unexpected problems that arise (Essential)
  • Ability to effect minor repairs (Essential)
  • Ability to work effectively and supportively as a member of the school team (Essential)
  • Willingness to participate in further training and development opportunities (Essential)
  • Computer literate with good working knowledge of ICT including using the internet and Microsoft office suite (Desirable)
