Job summary

Homes for Students Ltd in Egham is seeking a dedicated Caretaker/Housekeeper to maintain the Straits Garden property. The role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with duties including general property maintenance and ensuring a high standard of service for residents.

You will work across trades, follow health and safety standards, and contribute to a positive community experience through responsive fault repair, regular upkeep, and a friendly, professional approach.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of Property maintenance within a similar environment, or experienced and qualified in a trade with the ability to work across a number of trade disciplines to a reasonable standard.
• Awareness of Health and Safety issues and legal requirements.
• Excellent customer care skills with the ability to report outstanding actions and to keep individuals informed of progress.
• Excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience of prioritising workload to meet competing deadlines without close supervision.
• Be proactive with the ability to use initiative and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
• Ability to work in a team and have a flexible approach to work.

Homes for Students is one of the UK’s leading providers of student accommodation. We currently have a vacancy for a Caretaker/Houekeeperat our Straits Garden property in Egham working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

General duties will include but not be limited to:

• Painting
• Unblocking drains
• Fixing taps
• Changing lightbulbs
• Litter picking the perimeter

The postholder will be responsible for driving a high-quality customer experience in relation to the speed and quality of the service provided to reported faults and the general condition, state and repair of the property.

Person Specification:

• Previous experience of Property maintenance within a similar environment, or experienced and qualified in a trade with the ability to work across a number of trade disciplines to a reasonable standard.
• Awareness of Health and Safety issues and legal requirements.
• Excellent customer care skills with the ability to report outstanding actions and to keep individuals informed of progress.
