Job summary

Vertas is seeking a dedicated Caretaker to join our Facilities Team in Ashbourne, Derbyshire. You will help maintain cleanliness, oversee daily tasks and support a safe, well-run site on a split-shift pattern.

This role is 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with shifts 07:00-09:00 and 16:00-19:00; flexibility available. DBS checks and pre-employment checks apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in caretaking or maintenance settings.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Waste management and porterage.
• Light decorating and general maintenance work.
• Cleaning to high standards on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
• Maintain and check fire safety procedures and equipment.
• Support site upkeep during shifts and handle ad-hoc tasks.

About the Role

Based in Ashbourne, Derbyshire (DE6), you will be working 25 hours per week, Monday - Friday on split shifts, 07:00-09:00 & 16:00-19:00 (can offer flexibility for afternoon) You'll play a key role in providing high-quality caretaking services to oversee maintenance and cleanliness. What You’ll Bring

Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. Good attention to detail to ensure thorough cleaning and maintenance standards are met. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while following health.
