Job summary

A caring support service in Liverpool is seeking a Carer/Support Worker to provide 1:1 assistance to an 8-year-old Autistic boy, ensuring close supervision during activities to keep him safe. The ideal candidate will be friendly, empathetic, and possess good communication skills. Experience with autism is desirable, as is a willingness to develop a caring relationship. The role is for 8 hours per week at £12.75 per hour, with an enhanced DBS check required prior to employment.

About the role

>To provide support to a non-verbal 8-year-old Autistic boy. I have a bubbly personality but can be shy with new people. I can communicate some of my needs.

I like to go swimming and enjoy trips to the park. I also like playing on my trampoline.

I am looking for a kind caring person who is willing to get to know me and understand my support me to attend activities I enjoy and explore new things.

I always require close supervision particularly out in the community to keep me safe as I can run off.

8hrs per week (To be mutually agreed with employer)

£12.75 per hour

Duties
  • Provide 1:1 support.
  • Always provide close supervision.
  • Spend time to get to know my personality and learn how I communicate my needs.
  • Interact and play with me.
  • Support me to participate in activities that I enjoy.
  • Help to keep me safe whilst out and about.
Essential Skills
  • Friendly, empathetic, and enthusiastic about caring for others.
  • Experience of supporting children/adults with autism (desirable).
  • Experience of supporting children/young people with additional needs (desirable).
  • Willingness to build up and develop positive relationships.
  • Patient, kind and trustworthy.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Punctual and reliable.
  • An enhanced DBS check will be required before employment commences; this cost will be met by the employer.
  • Must have full right to work in the UK (the private household cannot provide sponsorship).
