A private household in Liverpool is seeking a compassionate support worker to assist with daily activities and mental health encouragement. The role involves up to 16 flexible hours per week, assisting with self-care, appointments, and daily hobbies. Essential skills include patience, dignity in care, and the ability to adapt to the client's needs. The position offers £12.75 per hour and requires a CV submission.
I am a 49 year old adult male with a combination of physical and mental health issues. I would like support from someone who will kindly encourage me to engage with my hobbies and interests, assist where necessary, and provide encouragement and basic self‑care support. I also need help with phone calls and attending appointments, as well as assistance with medications when my partner is not present.
I am seeking support for up to 16 hours per week and would appreciate someone who can work flexibly through mutual agreement, for example when an appointment falls outside usual hours. I have enjoyed working closely with my previous support workers and am also able to be flexible with times.
Rate of Pay: £12.75 per hour.
As the relationship between us is new, we will work together to create a routine. Day‑to‑day duties may differ depending on where support is most needed, such as appointments or activities outside the home environment that support my mental well‑being. My main priority is encouraging engagement with activities that support my mental health, such as arts, crafts, gardening, and physical activities. I need assistance with self‑care (washing, etc.), encouragement with housework, communication with doctors, the DWP and mental health services, and reminder of tasks. I also require help organising appointments and events, and occasional medication reminders when my partner is away. Assistance with food and drink to maintain a healthy diet, including cooking and prompting to eat, may also be needed.
A driving licence is preferable but not necessary. An enhanced DBS check will be required before employment commences; this cost will be met by the employer.
We are a private household and therefore cannot provide sponsorship, so you must have full right to work in the UK.
