Job summary

Making Space is seeking a Carer Support Worker to empower and assist carers across the Craven district. You will provide values-based support, advice and information, helping carers access practical and emotional assistance.

Role requires own transport for travel between locations. Training will be provided; opportunities for qualifications in Health and Social Care may be pursued. A meaningful difference in the community is the goal.

Qualifications

• No prior industry experience required.
• On-the-job training provided; professional qualifications may be pursued if desired.

• Assist carers to develop coping strategies, conduct home visits and carer assessments.
• Provide information about mental health services available to carers and service users.

Job description

In the role of Carer Support Worker you will need to be passionate about empowering and helping carers with a range of matters on a one to one basis. You must be able to provide your own transport as this role involves traveling across the Craven district.

In this role you will provide values based support, advice and information to service users and carers ensuring they have access to practical and emotional support.

You will also assist carers to develop coping strategies , conduct home visits and carer assessments and provide information about mental health and mental heal services that are available to them.
