Job summary

Education for Industry Group is seeking a Careers and Progression Coach to deliver impartial Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance to students considering further or higher education, apprenticeships, or T-Levels at the Fashion Retail Academy and London College of Beauty Therapy.

The role includes helping students write CVs, cover letters and personal statements and guiding UCAS applications, with a focus on supporting current and future alumni in progressing successfully.

Qualifications

  • Educated to A Level or equivalent; specialist qualification in careers guidance desirable.
  • Strong administrative, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in educational environments is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of recruitment trends and career pathways advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Provide impartial Careers Education, Information, Advice & Guidance to support students in making informed choices about further or higher education, careers, apprenticeships, or T-Levels.
  • Guide students in promoting their skills and experience, including CVs, cover letters and personal statements, and using LinkedIn and other tools.
  • Advise on UCAS applications and personal statements for higher education.
  • Support a specific provision of study and alumni progression to help them progress successfully.

Full-Time, 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

About the role

We are looking for a Careers and Progression Coach to provide impartial Careers Education, Information, Advice & Guidance to support students in making informed choices about further or higher education, careers, apprenticeships, or T-Levels at the Fashion Retail Academy and London College of Beauty Therapy.

In this role you will guide students in promoting their skills and experience, including writing CVs, cover letters, and personal statements, and using LinkedIn and other professional tools. You will also support students pursuing higher education, advising on UCAS applications and personal statements.

A key part of the role is supporting a specific provision of study and working with current and future alumni to help them progress successfully.

About you
  • Qualifications: Educated to A Level or equivalent. A specialist qualification in careers guidance, coaching, or a related field is desirable.
  • Experience: Strong administrative skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and strong presentation and public speaking experience. Previous experience in an educational environment is highly desirable.
  • Expertise: An understanding of recruitment trends, job markets, and progression routes and career pathways. Familiarity with university and FE College processes and knowledge of sector‑specific industries is advantageous (e.g., fashion, retail, hair & beauty).
  • Skills: Coaching and guidance skills, excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, and experience supporting CVs, personal statements and applications.
  • Values: An empathetic and inspiring team player, able to build strong relationships, support and develop students, and contribute to the careers team’s growth, innovation, and delivery of a high‑quality, impactful service across the EFI Group.

Salary

From £26,550 to £29,500 per annum, subject to qualifications and experience
