Job summary

A leading careers guidance organization is seeking a Careers Adviser to help adults find their next steps in work or education across West Yorkshire. You will build relationships with community partners and deliver tailored, high-quality advice. Ideal candidates will have experience in careers advice, strong communication skills, and a passion for supporting lifelong learning. This full-time position offers a salary of £25,000 to £28,000 and opportunities for professional growth.

The Role - What You will Be Doing

In your role as a Careers Adviser, you will provide impartial, high-quality information, advice, and guidance to adults exploring their next steps in work or education. You will:

  • Build relationships with Jobcentres, community organisations, and referral partners.
  • Promote a variety of funded training programmes, including vocational, digital and functional skills courses.
  • Check learner eligibility and maintain compliance with funding criteria.
  • Deliver tailored one-to-one careers advice to match individuals with the right learning or employment pathway.
  • Offer ongoing support before and after enrolment to ensure learners remain engaged and successful.
  • Collaborate with delivery and employer engagement teams to ensure a smooth learner journey.
Who We are Looking For

Experience in careers advice, employability, IAG, or community engagement.

  • A strong understanding of the challenges faced by unemployed or economically inactive adults.
  • Excellent communication, active listening, and organisational skills.
  • A genuine passion for widening participation and supporting lifelong learning.
  • (Desirable) Knowledge of eligibility and compliance processes in funded education.
