Job description

Team Leader – Home Instead Isle of Wight

Isle of Wight, Community Based · £15.75 per hour · Full-time / 30 hours per week

Do you love care and want to help others be their best? Come and lead with us.

At Home Instead Isle of Wight, we support older people in their own homes with a range of duties such as cooking, cleaning, personal care, medication assitance, social outings, and more. We're looking for a Team Leader to join our friendly team and help keep our care outstanding.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, community-based Team Leader role, where you will provide care and support to our clients in their own homes alongside your leadership responsibilities.

The majority of your working time will be spent providing care in the community, while also supporting our Care Professionals in the field through supervisions, spot checks, observations and ongoing guidance. You'll stay closely connected to our clients and Care Professionals, helping to ensure that everyone receives the support they need.

Flexibility is essential for this role. You will be required to work a combination of morning and evening care shifts, as well as every other weekend. This role is therefore ideal for someone who enjoys a varied working pattern and wants to combine hands-on care with developing their leadership skills.

What you'll be doing
  • Supporting our Care Professionals in the community: being a friendly, knowledgeable point of contact, guiding and encouraging the team, and helping them grow.
  • Onboarding new clients: helping new clients settle in, carrying out introductions with their Care Professionals, and making sure their care gets off to the best possible start.
  • Spot checks and observations: visiting Care Professionals at work to see great care in action, give feedback and celebrate good practice.
  • Supervisions: holding regular one-to-ones to support wellbeing, development and confidence of Care Professionals.
  • Hands-on care: covering visits when needed, so you stay close to our clients and team.
  • On-call: sharing on-call with our team of Team Leaders, just 1 week in every 6, with full support from the management team.
  • Working as part of a team of Team Leaders, sharing ideas and supporting each other.
What we're looking for
  • Experience in care, ideally home care, with a passion for person-centred support.
  • Confidence to guide, encourage and support others.
  • Good communication skills and a caring, calm approach.
  • Organised, reliable and happy to use digital care systems.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle is essential.
  • Level 2 / Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or willingness to work towards it.
What we offer
  • Pay of £15.75 per hour plus mileage paid.
  • Paid On-Call rota with a day off in lieu.
  • Full training and ongoing development, including leadership support.
  • A supportive, friendly team that genuinely values you.
  • 28 days paid annual leave per annum.
  • Employee Wellness Programme with access to confidential support and counselling
  • Blue Light Card acceess
