2. About the Role
  • We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Care Supervisor to join our Oxfordshire team (covering Oxford and surrounding areas).
  • You will report to the Registered Manager / Branch Manager and will supervise a team of care professionals.
  • Success in this role means ensuring safe, high-quality, person-centred care, strong team morale, compliance with care plans, and consistent improvement in service standards.
  • This role is central to our branch: you will support carers, work directly with clients, and ensure Walfinch’s mission of enhancing independence and “more get up and go” is delivered in the community.
3. Key Duties

As a Care Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

Supervision & Mentorship
  • Conduct regular one-to-one supervisions, appraisals, and support visits with care staff.
  • Mentor and coach staff, supporting their professional development, skills, and confidence.
Care Planning & Quality Assurance
  • Review, update, and audit care plans to ensure they reflect clients’ needs and are correctly implemented.
  • Perform risk assessments, infection control, safeguarding, and ensure compliance with company policy.
  • Monitor and audit care notes / eMARs for medication compliance.
Client Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, families, and external professionals.
  • Attend client visits when required to introduce carers, assess needs, and review care delivery.
Team & Operations Management
  • Support in recruitment, induction, and training of new care staff.
  • Support rota planning, ensuring coverage, and contribute to on-call rota where necessary.
  • Escalate and handle complaints or safeguarding concerns appropriately.
4. Skills & Experience

To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

Qualifications:
  • NVQ / QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
  • Experience: At least 1–2 years’ experience in a domiciliary or home care role, with previous supervisory or senior responsibility.
  • Experience managing medication administration, care documentation, and auditing (e.g. using MAR / eMAR).
Skills:
  • Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring abilities.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise.
  • Good digital literacy; comfortable using care planning systems, electronic care records, and office software.
  • Driving licence and access to a vehicle for local visits across Oxfordshire.
