Overview

CRA Consulting is a specialist legal recruitment partner supporting law firms of all sizes across the UK – from boutique practices to major national and international organisations. We recruit across the full legal spectrum, from senior leadership and partner‑level appointments through to fee earners and business support professionals.

Our client is a leading multi‑sector private legal practice. As an established, reputable, and highly regarded firm, they provide a comprehensive range of expert legal services designed to secure the compensation their clients deserve. Over the years, the firm has been a pioneer in advancing clients’ rights to reparation while also championing the professional development and career progression of its employees.

Their team of senior directors, managers, and lawyers are seasoned professionals known for their expertise, enthusiasm and unwavering dedication to social justice. The firm offers a welcoming and collaborative environment supported by excellent facilities, advanced training and development programmes, and a competitive employee benefits package.

Position

The role involves representing clients in court proceedings related to child protection and care, including matters such as care orders, supervision orders, adoption and placement applications. You will provide clear, concise legal advice, ensuring clients remain fully informed of their rights and obligations throughout every stage of the legal process.

You will manage a varied caseload of both public and private law children matters, handling cases from the initial instructions through to court hearings while ensuring that all deadlines and court timetables are adhered to. Collaboration with other professionals – such as social workers, guardians and expert witnesses – is essential to ensure that the best interests of the child remain at the centre of every case.

The position also requires attending meetings with clients, local authorities and other key stakeholders, as well as negotiating settlements where appropriate. You will prepare all necessary legal documentation and attend court hearings on behalf of clients, presenting their case clearly and advocating their position effectively.

Additionally, you will maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of all cases, ensuring that all client files are managed efficiently, securely and in line with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
