Job summary

CYGNET is seeking an outstanding Chef for Hope House, a residential care service in the UK. The role is 30 hours weekly, with 8-hour shifts on a rota, involving preparation and serving of meals for residents and staff. You’ll liaise with nursing colleagues to meet dietary needs and maintain high kitchen hygiene.

The ideal candidate holds a basic food hygiene certificate, demonstrates professionalism, and can work independently or as part of a team. DBS enhanced checks are required.

Qualifications

• Basic food hygiene certificate required.
• Polite & professional with positive attitude.
• Able to liaise with staff and patients at all levels.
• Good personal hygiene and professional presentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook & serve nutritional, balanced meals for patients, staff & visitors.
• Liaise with nursing colleagues to meet dietary needs.
• Ensure cleanliness of kitchen, service areas & dining room.
• Supervise kitchen staff when deputising for Head Chef.
• Maintain personal hygiene to Cygnet standards and COSHH compliance.
• Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment; follow COSHH regulations.
