Job summary

Cygnet Group is seeking an outstanding Chef to join ourOaklands residential service in Hexham, Northumberland. You’ll cook nutritionally balanced meals for patients and staff, liaise with nursing teams, and ensure kitchen hygiene and safety on a 40-hour weekly rota (10-hour shifts, 8am–6pm).

We prefer candidates with care-sector cooking experience, Dysphagia/IDDSI knowledge, and a basic food hygiene certificate. DBS check is required; benefits include meals on site and various discounts.

Qualifications

• Experience as a skilled chef, ideally in care settings.
• Ability to liaise with nursing staff to meet dietary needs.
• Proven food hygiene and personal hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve nutritious meals for patients, staff and visitors.
• Liaise with nursing colleagues to meet dietary and dysphagia needs.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and safety as per COSHH.
• Supervise kitchen staff when deputising for Head Chef.
• Handle and store kitchen equipment according to procedures.
