Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef in a professional kitchen, ideally within a care home or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of menu planning including specialist and therapeutic diets.
  • Ability to lead, supervise, and motivate a kitchen team.
  • Confident communicator who can build positive relationships with elderly residents.
  • Experience with IDDSI / texture-modified diets is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver nutritious meals for a large number of elderly residents.
  • Lead, motivate, and support a team of kitchen staff to maintain high standards.
  • Engage with residents to understand dietary needs, preferences and specialist requirements.
  • Manage stock, supplies and kitchen budgets effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health and safety and care home regulations.
