Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a Maintenance Operative for Braintree Mews Care Home in Braintree. You will maintain the building and grounds, carry out routine tasks, and perform basic repairs to equipment and systems to keep facilities functioning.

The role requires a minimum of 1 year in maintenance or a trades-related field, a full driving licence, and knowledge of health and safety practices. DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year in a general maintenance or handy person role.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety, Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
• Able to adapt and cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance tasks and basic repairs inside and outside the Home.
• Support new residents to arrange their room as they wish.
• Ensure routine re-decoration to maintain standards in the home.
• Advise on supplies and order replacement goods as needed.
• Provide out-of-hours emergency service and participate in the on-call rota.
