Barchester Healthcare is seeking a Kitchen Assistant in Reading to help prepare meals and deliver a nutritious dining experience for residents. You’ll be part of a team that supports daily life and wellbeing in a warm care home environment.

No formal qualifications are required, though experience in a commercial or care setting is useful. Reliability, empathy and a cooperative attitude are highly valued by the team.

Qualifications

• Formal qualifications aren’t required; however any experience in a commercial or care setting is useful.
• A kitchen role focused on high standards of food preparation and service.

Responsibilities

• assist with meal preparation and cooking for residents
• help create a welcoming dining experience for every resident
• maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene and support safe food handling
• work closely with the care home team to support residents’ wellbeing
