Job summary

Bowgreave Rise Care Home is seeking a dependable Domestic Assistant to join the team. You will maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, staff and visitors, with responsibilities across communal areas and resident spaces.

The role is permanent, part-time (17.5 hours/week) with shifts 09:00‑14:00. Training is provided, and uniform is supplied. DBS disclosure may be required in line with policy.

Qualifications

• Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional.
• Awareness of health and safety and infection‑control practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties across the building, including communal areas, offices, bathrooms, corridors, and resident areas.
• Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and polish surfaces as required.
• Clean bathrooms and toilets to a high standard, ensuring hygiene and safety at all times.
• Replace consumables such as soap, towels, and toilet paper.
• Empty bins and manage waste disposal in line with organisational procedures.
• Follow designated cleaning schedules and maintain appropriate cleaning records.
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and in accordance with training.
• Report maintenance issues or concerns promptly to the management team.
• Work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and residents.
