Job summary

Harbour Healthcare is seeking a Chef/Cook for Fleetwood Heights Care Home in Halifax. The role is full-time with weekend shifts, responsible for all kitchen functions including ordering, preparation, sanitation and quality standards, and supervising kitchen staff.

You will manage stock, plan menus and ensure compliance with food safety requirements within a caring home environment. Strong culinary and management experience is essential, with a focus on resident wellbeing and dietary needs.

Qualifications

• Qualification(s) in catering
• Qualification(s) in food safety/hygiene
• Previous experience of working in a care setting or similar environment

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve meals and snacks in line with residents' dietary needs and preferences
• Stock management and ordering supplies
• Menu planning
• Maintain food safety checks and records
• Adhere to company policies and procedures and Health & Safety rules
• Manage budgets and supervise staff; oversee rostering and at times scheduling of shifts
• Work with Activities Team for events within the home
