Contract Type:Permanent
Location:Shooting Star House, Hampton and Christopher's, Guildford, GU3 1LP
Your key purpose will be to coordinate and deliver a varied programme of events, groups and activities for children and young people with life-limiting conditions, their families and bereaved families. Working as part of the Care Events Team within Psychosocial Services, you will help create opportunities for families to make memories, build connections and access support in welcoming and inclusive environments.
You will take ownership of agreed events from planning through to delivery, evaluation and follow-up, coordinating logistics, communications, venues, suppliers, volunteers and resources to ensure activities are safe, engaging and delivered to a high standard. You will also play an important role in helping children, young people and families feel welcomed, supported and included throughout their experience.
Alongside the wider events programme, you will maintain a regular presence at Christopher's hospice, working with multidisciplinary colleagues to plan and facilitate meaningful daily activities for children and young people during their stays. You will contribute to the ongoing development of the programme by gathering feedback, identifying opportunities for improvement and helping ensure activities respond to the needs of the families we support.

This role requires experience of planning and coordinating activities, events or experiences for children, young people and families, alongside strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. We are looking for someone who is warm, creative, organised and approachable, with a genuine passion for creating positive experiences for children and families. You will be a confident communicator with excellent attention to detail, able to produce clear communications, coordinate complex logistics and adapt plans in response to changing circumstances and individual needs.
You will be comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, building positive relationships with children, young people, families and colleagues from a wide range of backgrounds. You will also be emotionally resilient and able to work sensitively within a children's hospice environment, including supporting families affected by serious illness, end-of-life care and bereavement.
