Job summary

Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a qualified Mental Health Nurse to join the Southampton West Older Persons Community Mental Health Team based at the Western Community Hospital, Millbrook. This Band 6 role involves carrying out mental health assessments and providing guidance and support to our clients.

Experience with older adults and complex mental illness in hospital or community settings is preferred; dementia care expertise would be an asset.

Qualifications

• Must be a registered Mental Health Nurse with current PIN.
• Experience in older persons mental health settings preferred.
• Dementia care experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Southampton West Older Persons Community Mental Health Team are on the lookout for committed and qualified professional to enhance their team based at the Western Community Hospital Millbrook. The Band 6 position present a thrilling chance to conduct mental health assessments and offer advice and support to our clients.

Prior experience with older persons and individuals with severe mental illnesses is preferred, whether in a hospital or community setting.

Expertise in Dementia care and assessment would also be an asset for the available position.

The role of a care coordinator is both challenging and fulfilling, serving as the initial point of contact for older persons facing mental health challenges and significantly influencing the care we deliver in our community.
