Job summary

Be Caring Ltd in Wallsend, North Tyneside, is seeking Care Assistants for full- and part-time roles. The job offers shift pay instead of pay-per-call, with rates for drivers and walkers and mileage allowances.

Where You’ll Work

You’ll be based in Wallsend, North Tyneside, supporting people in their own homes in a dedicated team, on a set run or runs, and on 2-week shift pattern, with opportunities for both drivers and walkers.

Pay, Shift Pay & Hours

We offer shift pay rather than pay-per-call, meaning you’re paid from the start of your first call to the end of your last call within a shift.

• £13.30 p/hr – drivers
• £12.75 p/hr – walkers
• Mileage: 50p per mile for drivers & 20p per mile for cyclists

Shift patterns (2-week rota):

• Early shift: 7:00am – 2:00pm
• Late shift: 4:00pm – 10:00pm
• Weekends: Alternate full weekends, or every Saturday or every Sunday

Job Description

If you have previous experience as a carer for family or friends, you’ll make an excellent Care Assistant in North Tyneside. As a Care Assistant with Be Caring, you will:

• Support people to achieve their personal outcomes, working alongside families and professionals
• Provide dignified personal care that respects privacy and choice
• Promote independence and confidence using enabling approaches
• Deliver personalised care based on individual needs, choices, and preferences
• Communicate clearly, recording and sharing information with the right people at the right time
• Help people stay connected to their community, accessing local services and support

Induction Training

You’ll receive comprehensive paid induction training, including:

• Be Caring values, going Above & Beyond to meet personal outcomes.
• Dignity and respect, safeguarding and equality and diversity
• Confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Fluids and nutrition and safe administration of medication.
• Moving and positioning, basic life support, and pressure sores (React to Red)
• Infection prevention and control,health and safety.
• Learning Disabilities (Oliver McGowan Tier 1), mental health and capacity.
