Job description

We are looking for caring female Healthcare assistants to join our Nursing home located on the edge of Norwich, set well back from the A47 at Thorpe. There are local amenities, including local shops, post office and a large supermarket nearby.

This 48-bedded Nursing and Residential Care Home specialises in the care of terminally ill and chronic sick as well as medical and surgical convalescent patients.

We are unable to accept student visas or skilled workers. We do not provide sponsorship. We do recruit care assistants with experience living in the area or able to relocate within 2 weeks.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting and assisting Residents when required with all aspects of daily living.
  • Assist Residents in all aspects of their care needs, e.g. physical, emotional and spiritual.
  • Provide supervision and attention when needed, ensuring Residents retain their comfort and dignity.
  • Observe care planning needs for Residents and completed daily records as instructed.
  • Assist in framework of social activities by interacting with Residents and helping them continue with hobbies and activities in the Care Centre.
  • Answer Nurse Call system, giving assistance as required.
  • Answer the door and telephone appropriately, respond accordingly, and pass on messages promptly.
  • Report on the well‑being of Residents.
  • Clean and maintain equipment used by Residents and Relatives e.g. wheelchairs, hearing aids, spectacles etc.
