Howbury House is a 32-bed residential home for people who need care and support and are living with dementia. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission. We are increasing our staffing levels on a permanent basis and have various jobs available. We are looking for enthusiastic, caring people to join our team to enhance the lives of our residents. The successful applicants must have the ability to listen and communicate orally and in writing, work as part of a team, work on their own initiative, be caring, compassionate and motivated, and have an understanding of the rights and needs of older people, treating people with dignity and respect as individuals.

Care Assistants – Hours: ranging from 19.25 to 24 hours per week. The shift pattern consists of 07:30–15:30, 15:30–22:00, 08:00–21:00 and some shorter shifts of 08:00–13:00, 17:00–21:00, mainly for the lesser hour posts. All vacancies include alternate weekend and bank holiday working. We are an established team of dedicated staff, proud of the work we do and looking for caring people to share our commitment to provide the best care for our residents.

  • Great Holiday Entitlement: As well as bank holidays, you’ll get 26 days paid holiday (pro‑rata for part‑time staff). This goes up to 31 days when you have been with us for five years. If you get more than 26 days where you work now, don’t worry because if you join us without a break, we’ll match your holiday up to 31 days. If you’re successful and want to take advantage of this let us know!
