Regency Healthcare Limited in Bradford is seeking a Carer to support residents with daily care in a home setting. You will follow individual care plans and report changes to the Supervisor, ensuring a friendly and sociable environment while addressing physical and emotional needs.

The role involves assisting with meals, dressing, and activities, observing residents, and helping with admission and discharge processes as directed by the Manager. Training may be provided in-house and externally.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2/3 in care or equivalent required.
• Experience in caring for residents preferred but not mandatory.

Responsabilités

• Assist in the care of physically ill or bedfast residents.
• Observe and assist with the needs of incontinent residents.
• Assist residents with feeding and ensuring comfort during meals.
• Be present in dining areas at meals to assist as directed by the Supervisor.
• Assist and encourage residents with dressing/undressing as necessary.
• Observe residents’ sleeping patterns and report changes to the Supervisor.
• Receive new residents and orientate them to the Home and facilities.
• Introduce new staff and residents and assist with belongings on admission and discharge.

The role of the Carer is to undertake those duties required of them as delegated by the Manager or Supervisor.

The Carer will remember that they are dealing with long stay care residents in the Home and that the accent should be on providing a friendly, sociable environment to provide for the physical and emotional needs of the residents, which includes all aspects of care, treatment and rehabilitation and ensure that residents receive the highest standard of care and the best quality of life that is possible to provide.

The delivery of care will be determined by the individualised care plans and the Carer will report regularly to the Supervisor, passing on any changes that are observed or problems that are identified.

The Carer will expect to undertake training at the caring level in the Home guided by the Supervisor. Other training may take place outside the Home and the Manager may direct individuals toward this training.

To describe all the duties of a Carer would be very difficult and therefore listed below are some of the key issues. Other duties may be expected at the discretion of the Supervisor or the Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS: NVQ LEVEL 2 & 3

RESIDENTS PHYSICAL CARE

1. Assist in the care of the physically ill or bedfast resident.
2. Show awareness of the needs of the incontinent resident.
3. Observing residents and assisting in the use of the bathroom and/or toilet.
4. Give assistance to those residents who find difficulty feeding themselves.
5. Be present in the dining area at mealtimes to observe and assist as directed by the Supervisor.
6. To prepare and serve meals as directed by the Supervisor.
7. To assist and encourage the resident to dress/undress as necessary.
8. To observe the amount of time the resident spends in bed at night.

RESIDENTS PSYCHOLOGICAL CARE

1. Talking and listening to Clients.
2. To participate in recreational and occupational activities with the direction of the Supervisor.
3. Give comfort and reassurance to Clients at night.
4. To observe the Clients sleep pattern and report to Supervisor.
5. To report complaints to the Manager immediately.

ADMISSION AND DISCHARGE OF CLIENTS

1. Receive new Clients with the Manager or Supervisor.
2. Orientating new Clients to the Home and its facilities.
3. Introducing other staff and Clients in the Home.
4. Assist with the care of property/valuables on admission and discharge.
5. Speak to relatives and visitors, referring them to a Senior Member of Staff if necessary.
