Job summary

Heritage Healthcare York is hiring a Care Assistant (Driver Required) to support clients in their own homes across York and surrounding areas, delivering high-quality care with a friendly, supportive team.

We offer £13.60 per hour, paid mileage and travel time, flexible patterns, full induction and training, ongoing development and career progression. A Full UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle are required; previous care experience is helpful but not essential.

Qualifications

• A Full UK Driving Licence is required.
• Access to your own vehicle is required to travel between clients.
• The right to work in the UK must be demonstrated.
• Good communication skills and a caring attitude are essential.
• Availability to work alternate weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and daily living assistance in clients' homes.
• Assist with medication where trained and sanctioned.
• Prepare meals and provide nutrition support as needed.
• Offer companionship and support emotional wellbeing.
• Assist with shopping, community visits, and mobility support.
• Maintain accurate care records and report changes to supervisors.

No Experience? Full Training Provided

Previous care experience is helpful but not essential. We recruit people based on their values, attitude and commitment to delivering excellent care. If you have a caring nature and are willing to learn, we will provide all the training and support you need to succeed. Many of our most successful Care Assistants joined us with no previous care experience.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Care Assistant, you will support clients in their own homes with daily activities that help them maintain their independence and quality of life.

• Personal care and hygiene support
• Assisting with medication where trained
• Meal preparation and nutritional support

• Light household duties
• Maintaining accurate care records
