Job summary

Randolph Hill Nursing Homes Group are looking for an exceptional Care Assistant to join our team in Kirk Lane, Livingston.

Market Leading Rates of Pay – from £13.77 – £19.09 per hour (depending on level), with overtime at time plus 33%, enhanced sick pay scheme covering up to 6 months, and a generous reward and development environment.

Both permanent full- or part-time posts are available. OR you can join our staff bank with fully flexible shifts around your availability and in as many of our homes as you’d like to work in. Bank shifts offer work–life balance and greater continuity of care for residents.

Main Responsibilities
  • Promote the highest standards of care within the nursing home
  • Uphold residents’ rights to privacy, dignity and choice
  • Provide a safe and healthy environment for residents, staff and visitors
  • Adhere to the SSSC Code of Conduct
  • Set a good example in dress, manner, hygiene and behaviour
  • Report injuries, illness or dangerous practice to relevant personnel
  • Maintain correctly written records as required by the company and statutory bodies
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year care experience in elderly care settings (nursing home, hospital or community). Student nurses welcome
  • We may consider candidates without experience depending on suitability and home needs
  • For Principal Carer post, SVQ 3 is essential with team leadership experience in a care environment
  • Experience of working with elderly people and knowledge of dementia; ability to deliver clinical support in this area
  • Time management and prioritisation of workload for self and team
  • Problem solving and ability to manage diverse situations in a nursing home
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including report writing
  • Ability to respond appropriately to a variety of issues
