Job summary

Caremark Coventry is seeking Care Assistants to support people at home across Coventry, Nuneaton and Bedworth. You will follow each person’s care plan to promote safety, comfort and independence while delivering compassionate, person-centred care.

Experience is welcome but not essential; full training is provided. The role offers full-time and part-time opportunities with induction, ongoing support, and the chance to develop a meaningful career in community care.

We are looking for dedicated Care Assistants to join our growing team, providing high-quality care and support to people in their own homes across Coventry, Nuneaton and Bedworth.

About the Role

As a Care Assistant, you will support individuals to remain safe, comfortable and independent in their own homes. You will follow each person’s care plan while promoting their dignity, choices and wellbeing.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting individuals with personal care, including washing, dressing, continence care and oral hygiene
• Assisting with mobility, transfers and the safe use of mobility equipment
• Supporting with medication in line with the care plan, training and company procedures
• Preparing meals and encouraging appropriate nutrition and hydration
• Providing companionship, reassurance and emotional support
• Supporting individuals with shopping, appointments and community activities
• Completing light household tasks to maintain a safe and comfortable home
• Monitoring and reporting any changes in an individual’s health, behaviour or wellbeing
• Completing accurate care records after every visit
• Following safeguarding, infection prevention, confidentiality and health and safety procedures
• Working effectively with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals
• Respecting each individual’s privacy, dignity, culture, beliefs and personal choices

Previous experience in health or social care is desirable, but applicants with transferable skills and the right values are encouraged to apply.

• The right to work in the UK
• Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English
• Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS check
• Ability to travel between individuals’ homes within the selected working area
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle may be required, depending on the location and shift pattern
• Availability to work alternate weekends or as required by the service
