Job summary

Three Shires Hospital is seeking a Healthcare Assistant on a bank basis to cover shifts in the Wards department in Northampton. The role involves assisting with patient hygiene, mobility and daily living tasks, with support from nurses and other staff.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a care or health support role (hospital, care home, community, or domiciliary).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with a caring, compassionate attitude.
• Ability to follow instructions and escalate when needed.
• Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
• Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care and mobility, respecting dignity.
• Help with eating, drinking and nutritional support, including documenting intake.
• Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives.
