Responsibilities
  • Understanding and providing the requirements for "normal" health and insight into the effects on the client and family when continued care is needed.
  • Assisting the client with any area of daily care needs that they would normally undertake themselves if able.
  • Participating in holistic caring activities.
  • Providing care for all clients' needs with the aim of optimising their independence.
  • Reading and acting on each client’s Care Plan to promote continuity of care.
  • Understanding and respecting the individual’s right to confidentiality.
  • Assisting with moving and handling, dressing, and daily hygiene.
  • Observing and reporting any changes in resident condition.
  • Reporting to senior staff any hazard or unsafe equipment that may endanger staff, residents, or visitors.
  • Attending any in‑service or mandatory training as part of staff development.
  • The successful applicant should be willing to learn, caring in nature, and kind.
  • Being reliable with a good attitude towards work; full training can be provided for the right applicant.
  • Previous experience of care work in a hospital, care or nursing home.
  • A passion for care of the elderly.
  • NVQ2 / SVQ2 or QCF level 2 in Health and Social Care or Care.
