Care Assistant (Day Shifts) – Ocean Living Care Home

Location: Mumbles, Swansea
Pay: £12.60 per hour
Contract: Permanent, Part-Time
Hours: 24 hours per week | 2 × 12‑hour day shifts (08:00–20:00)
Rota: Alternate weekends included

About Ocean Living

Ocean Living is a welcoming 14‑bed residential care home set on the beautiful Mumbles seafront. We provide personalised, person‑centred care for older adults, including those living with dementia, in a calm and homely environment. Our small size allows staff to build meaningful relationships with residents and families.

The Role

As a Day Care Assistant, you will support residents with their daily routines while promoting dignity, comfort, and independence. Your duties will include:

  • Assisting with personal care such as washing, dressing, and toileting
  • Supporting mobility, transfers, and safe movement
  • Helping with meals, drinks, and nutritional needs
  • Offering companionship, reassurance, and emotional support
  • Observing wellbeing and reporting any concerns promptly
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and infection control
What We’re Looking For
  • A caring, patient, and respectful approach
  • Ability to work well within a small, close‑knit team
  • NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care (preferred)
  • Registered with Social Care Wales (or willing to register)
  • Previous care experience is desirable but not essential
