Overview
The Opportunity: Sourcing Pro Recruitment, a specialist in placing exceptional staff within the social care and education sectors, is seeking dedicated and compassionate Care Assistants to join the team at MTCBC Registered Care Homes. This vital role is centred on delivering person-centred care and ensuring a safe, homely, and enabling environment for vulnerable adults, including older people, those with dementia, and individuals with learning or physical disabilities. You will be responsible for upholding the highest standards of dignity and independence, fully compliant with the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016.
Key Responsibilities (The Meaningful Day)
- Your primary function is to provide practical, emotional, and physical support while promoting independence and a Meaningful Day for every resident.
- Personalised Care: Provide full support with all tasks of daily living (e.g., washing, dressing, medication administration) as detailed in the Personal Plan, always promoting ability and self-sufficiency.
- Activity and Engagement: Design and facilitate engaging and meaningful activities that meet individuals\u2019 physical, sensory, cognitive, emotional, and social needs, informed by their Life History Profile.
- Safeguarding: Actively participate in the evaluation of risk and strictly follow all responsibilities outlined in the Wales Safeguarding Procedures to protect and promote the welfare of individuals.
- Community Access: Support individuals to access their local and wider community for social, medical, or other appointments.
- Documentation and Compliance: Contribute to the review of Personal Plans, participate in quality assurance, and maintain the safety and cleanliness of the environment by undertaking general domestic duties.
Required Skills and Experience
- Completion of the 10-hour online Welsh Work course.
- QCF Level 2 in Care (or willingness to undertake this within the first year of employment).
- At least 1 year\u2019s experience in a social care role within a registered setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016 and the Social Care Wales Code of Conduct.
- Excellent communication (written and oral), strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Commitment to register with Social Care Wales immediately upon starting.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, early mornings, evenings, and bank holidays. Must be willing to work across all Registered Care Homes within the Directorate as directed.
- Full, valid driving license with a willingness to drive the service minibus for activities.
