Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a caring Care Assistant for Loxley Park Care Home in Sheffield. You will provide high standards of personal care and support to residents, contributing to our care team to ensure continuity of services.

No prior experience is required as a thorough induction and training programme is provided, with shifts from 7:00 to 14:30 and 14:30 to 22:00, including alternate weekends and some night work. DBS check will be required and paid by Avery.

• Ability to work well within a team and adapt to changing shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal hygiene and daily activities to promote independence and dignity.
• Identify and escalate risks (weight loss, pressure sores, falls, infections) promptly.
• Be courteous to residents and visitors, respecting dignity and individuality.
• Follow safe working practices across all tasks and care routines.

About The Role

Your focus as Care Assistant will be to deliver high standards of personal care, contributing fully to the care team to ensure continuity of services to residents.

Other Responsibilities Will Include

• Assisting residents in all their personal hygiene care ensuring optimum independence, dignity and respect of individuals at all times.
• Recognising and understanding clinical risk areas in residents such as weight loss, pressure sores, risk of falls, sign of infections and elevate any identified risks in a timely manner.
• Acting courteously towards residents and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident.
• Practicing safe systems of work across the range of task.
