We are currently recruiting for a Care Assistant to deliver high standards of care and support to residents in a person-centred, compassionate, and respectful manner. The Care Assistant will promote dignity, independence, and quality of life for each individual in line with their care plan and our care home's values.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily personal hygiene, dressing, toileting and continence care.
- Support residents with mobility, positioning and use of aids such as hoists and wheelchairs.
- Help residents with eating and drinking, including feeding when required.
- Provide companionship, reassurance and emotional support, encouraging participation in activities and social interaction.
- Observe and report changes in residents' physical or emotional condition to senior staff.
- Accurately record care given, including food and fluid intake, personal care and observations.
- Follow care home policies and procedures, maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic environment and using PPE correctly.
- Adhere to moving and handling protocols, health & safety guidelines and infection control measures.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
- Experience working in a care home setting or with elderly residents.
- Training in Basic First Aid, Manual Handling, Infection Control and Safeguarding of Adults.
- Good standard of education and basic record‑keeping skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and identify and anticipate needs.
- Right to live and work in the UK and satisfactory NI check required.
