Home Caregiver

Symbiotic Homecare is a leading provider of compassionate and personalised home care services. Backed by our medical directors with nearly two decades of experience in the NHS, we are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for our clients by providing support and assistance tailored to their individual needs. Our team of caregivers is committed to fostering a sense of independence, dignity, and well‑being for those we serve.

Availability: Flexible contracts.

Important: Applicants must hold a UK driver’s licence and have access to a car.

We do not have a sponsor licence. We will consider applications from individuals who want to work up to 20 hours if they are sponsored in the UK by another employer; we cannot sponsor any employees.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  2. Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding, adhering to any dietary restrictions or preferences.
  3. Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, dishes, and tidying up living spaces.
  4. Accompany clients to medical appointments, grocery shopping, and other errands as needed.
  5. Engage clients in meaningful activities and conversation to promote socialisation and mental stimulation.
  6. Monitor and report any changes in clients' condition or behaviour to the appropriate supervisor.
  7. Provide emotional support and companionship, fostering a trusting and caring relationship with clients.
  8. Maintain confidentiality and respect clients' privacy at all times.
  9. Collaborate effectively with other members of the care team to ensure holistic and coordinated care.

Qualifications
  • English language proficiency.
  • Previous experience as a caregiver desirable but not essential.
  • Compassionate and empathetic demeanour with a genuine desire to help others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s licence.

  • Basic understanding of personal care techniques and infection control practices.
  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred).
  • About 1 year of home care experience (preferred).
  • English (preferred).
