Care Heaven LTD is seeking a Care Assistant (Medication Trained) to support clients in North London and surrounding areas on a temporary basis. The role involves safe administration of medications, MAR record keeping, and adherence to care plans, with emphasis on dignity and quality of life.

Applicants should have at least 6 months UK care experience and a Level 2 Medication Administration certificate, with current DBS clearance or willingness to obtain one quickly.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months professional care experience within the UK care/healthcare sector.
• Valid, accredited Level 2 Practical Medication Administration certificate with documented competency in specialized routes like buccal.
• Compassionate, patient-centred approach to care.
• Reliable and flexible with working hours.
• Up-to-date mandatory care training certificates, or willingness to undergo training immediately.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one immediately).

Responsabilités

• Medication Administration: Safely administer oral medications (tablets, capsules, liquids) and specialized medications, including buccal administration and topical treatments.
• MAR Sheet Management: Accurately complete, review, and update MAR sheets with clear documentation.
• Emergency Awareness: Recognise side effects, adverse reactions, or specific protocols related to specialized rescue meds (e.g., buccal midazolam).
• Personal Care: Assist with daily personal care needs, including washing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
• Meal Support: Help with dining and hydration, assisting those who require extra support during mealtimes.
• Engagement: Build positive relationships and encourage participation in daily activities and social interaction.

Job Vacancy: Care Assistant (Medication Trained)

Location

North London and surrounding local areas (Excellent transport links via local bus routes, tram networks, and main train stations).

Role Type

Temporary position with highly flexible shifts. Opportunity to review for a longer-term placement.

Working Hours

Flexible shifts to suit your lifestyle:

• Day Shifts: 07:00 - 21:30
• Night Shifts: 21:00 - 07:00

Key Responsibilities

• Medication Administration: Safely administer oral medications (tablets, capsules, liquids) and specialized medications, including buccal administration and topical treatments.
• MAR Sheet Management: Accurately complete, review, and update Medication Administration Records (MAR sheets), ensuring zero errors and clear documentation.
• Emergency Awareness: Recognise side effects, adverse reactions, or specific protocols related to specialized rescue medications (e.g., buccal midazolam).
• Personal Care: Assist with daily personal care needs, including washing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
• Meal Support: Help with dining and hydration, assisting those who require extra support during mealtimes.

Requirements

• Proven Experience: Minimum of 6 months of professional care experience within the UK care/healthcare sector.
• Medication Training: Valid, accredited Level 2 (or higher) Practical Medication Administration certificate with documented competency in specialized routes like buccal.
• Compassionate Approach: A patient, empathetic nature with a strong commitment to person-centred care.
• Reliability: Dependable work ethic with a hands-on and flexible approach to working hours.
• Valid Training: Up-to-date mandatory care training certificates, or a willingness to undergo training immediately.
• Background Check: Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one immediately).
