Job summary

Oaklea Dementia Care Unit, within Ashlea Court Care Home, is part of Willinbrook Healthcare and provides specialist dementia care for up to 26 residents. The unit is operated by Care Concern Group in the United Kingdom.

We are looking for a Care Assistant to support residents with complex needs in a compassionate and professional manner. Role includes following care plans, working closely with the team, and maintaining a calm, supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • A caring, compassionate and respectful approach.

  • A calm, patient and resilient attitude.
  • Willingness to learn and develop within a complex care environment.
  • Previous care or mental health experience is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Follow individual care plans and structured routines to provide consistent care.
  • Build positive relationships with residents and respond to changes in behaviour or wellbeing.

Job description

Oaklea Dementia Care Unit, within Ashlea Court Care Home, is part of Willinbrook Healthcare and provides specialist dementia care for up to 26 residents. The unit offers a structured, supportive and homely environment designed to meet the needs of individuals living with dementia.

Care Assistant Contract

  • £13.60 per hour
  • Contracted to 33-44 hours per week
  • Dayshift & Night shift available
  • Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided and onsite parking
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (pro rata)

Role Overview

As a Care Assistant, you will support individuals with a range of complex needs, including advanced dementia, mental health conditions and other long term health challenges. Your role is to provide safe, consistent and person centred care that promotes dignity, independence and wellbeing.

Working closely with the wider team, you will follow individual care plans and support structured routines, helping to create a calm, stable and supportive environment. You will build positive relationships with residents, understanding their needs and responding appropriately to changes in behaviour or wellbeing.

This is a hands on role that requires patience, resilience and a calm approach, supporting both the physical and emotional needs of residents while ensuring care is delivered safely and consistently at all times.
