Permanent roles with flexible hours available

Highland Home Carers is recruiting Care Assistants to support people living in Dingwall and surrounding communities, offering permanent roles with flexible working patterns and one of the most established home care providers in the Highlands.

Highland Home Carers is employee owned and has more than 30 years of experience delivering high quality, person centred care.

The service supports people with a wide range of needs, from everyday living support to more complex care, enabling individuals to remain independent in their own homes and familiar communities.

The role

As a Care Assistant, you will be a key part of a person centred, holistic approach to care, tailored to each individual’s assessed needs.

You will support people in their own homes, helping them live safely, comfortably, and with dignity.

Typical duties include supporting personal care, mobility, medication, and dietary needs, always respecting choice, privacy, and independence.

You will work in line with individual Support Plans, contribute to ongoing reviews, and maintain clear and accurate records in accordance with company policies and procedures.

You will work across Dingwall and surrounding areas, supporting people within their local communities rather than in residential settings.

No previous care experience is required.

Full training is provided, and Highland Home Carers is looking for people with the right values, attitude, and commitment to making a difference.

What we are looking for

You should be caring, reliable, and respectful, with a genuine desire to support people to live well at home.

You must be willing to register with the Scottish Social Services Council and keep that registration up to date.

You will be expected to attend training and review meetings, follow company policies and procedures, understand and work within risk assessments, and uphold the values of Highland Home Carers at all times.

Please note that sponsorship is not available for this role.

Pay and benefits

The standard hourly rate is £13.00, with mileage paid at £0.45 per mile.

Overtime is paid at £14.00 per hour when working over full time hours of 37.5 per week.

Benefits include access to Early Pay, allowing you to draw down wages in advance of payday, paid training through the Adult Social Care Academy, and free SVQ opportunities delivered through Highland Home Carers’ own SQA Centre.

You will receive 6.2 weeks of holiday per year pro rata, free uniforms and PPE where required, a contributory pension scheme with the company paying 4 percent, company sick pay, and access to pool cars in emergencies.

As an employee owned organisation, qualifying employees share equally in company profits.

Additional benefits include a £500 refer a friend scheme, access to an Employee Assistance Programme for you and your family, and eligibility for the Blue Light Card discount scheme.
