Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a compassionate Care Assistant at Purley Gardens Care Home in Purley, Surrey. You will support residents with personal care, maintain dignity and independence, and work as part of a friendly care team.

No prior experience required as we provide a thorough induction and training programme. You must be eligible to work in the UK and willing to undergo a DBS disclosure check funded by Avery.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Efficient worker able to understand and carry instructions from the team.
• Adaptable and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of personal care and support the care team to ensure continuity of services for residents.
• Recognise clinical risk areas (weight loss, pressure sores, risk of falls, infections) and escalate risks promptly.
• Act courteously towards residents and visitors, upholding dignity and independence.
• Follow safe working practices across all tasks.

Job description

Your focus as Care Assistant will be to deliver high standards of personal care, contributing fully to the care team to ensure continuity of services to residents. Other responsibilities will include:

• Assisting residents in all their personal hygiene care ensuring optimum independence, dignity and respect of individuals at all times.
• Recognising and understanding clinical risk areas in residents such as weight loss, pressure sores, risk of falls, sign of infections and escalating any identified risks in a timely manner.
• Acting courteously towards residents and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident.
• Practicing safe systems of work across the range of task.

Please note this role will require:

• A DBS Disclosure check, the cost of which will be met by Avery Healthcare.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
