Worcestershire County Council is seeking compassionate and reliable Care Assistants (Scale 2) to support adults with learning and physical disabilities across multiple locations in Worcestershire. This temporary agency role involves delivering high-quality, person-centred care in day centres and residential settings, promoting independence, and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of service users.

Key Responsibilities

• Support individuals with personal care and daily living activities.
• Encourage independence and community participation.
• Follow care plans and maintain a safe, stimulating environment.
• Apply moving and handling techniques and adhere to Health & Safety protocols.
• Manage and respond appropriately to challenging behaviour.
• Maintain accurate records and professional standards.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors.

Requirements / Essential Skills

• NVQ Level 2 in Care (or equivalent).
• Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities or physical disabilities.
• First Aid knowledge.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, able to work under pressure and to deadlines.

Working Pattern & Locations

• Wyre Forest Day Opportunities, Kidderminster, DY10 2JE: Mon–Fri, 09:00–16:00 (37 hours/week).
• Exmoor Drive, Bromsgrove, B61 0TW: Shifts approx. 08:00–22:00, 7 hours per shift.
• Worth Crescent, Stourport, DY13 8RR: Shifts approx. 07:00–14:00 (hours vary by schedule).
• Contract: Temporary / Agency.

Pay

• Regular: £12.45/hr (PAYE).
• Sunday: £18.68/hr.
• Bank Holiday: £24.90/hr.
