Job summary

Alex Wood House Care Home in Cambridge is seeking a dedicated Care Assistant to support residents with daily care needs and to participate in meaningful activities, delivering person-centred care.

The role includes an on-going training pathway with fully funded apprenticeships toward NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care and a comprehensive induction.

Shifts total 18 hours per week on a rota from Monday to Sunday, with days and nights paid at £12.71–£13.23 per hour.

Qualifications

• A genuine caring attitude and a passion for care.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• NVQ/QCF Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care is desirable and supported to achieve.

Responsibilities

• Deliver care in the home, ensuring ongoing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of residents' care.
• Assist residents during meals to ensure they receive suitable meals.
• Participate in activities to promote person-centred care within the home.
• Attend and complete all required training and qualifications (statutory, mandatory and developmental).

As a Care Assistant at Alex Wood House Care Home, you will be responsible for ensuring a high level of care is provided to our residents.

Alex Wood House is an exceptional residential care home in Cambridge. At Alex Wood House we pride ourselves on our family-feel, attractive gardens and providing outstanding care to each of our residents.

We're based in a quiet nook in Arbury on the north eastern side of Cambridge, three miles from the city centre. Our home offers 24-hour residential care and 36 en-suite bedrooms.

About The Role

Reporting to the Team Leader, the Care Assistant will provide high quality care to residents at all times paying attention to their specific and individual needs. You will participate in meaningful activities when possible, and ensure that care plans are appropriate to each resident’s needs.

Salary

Days - £12.71 per hour.

Nights - £13.23 per hour.

Shift Pattern

18 hours per week, shifts worked on a rota basis from Monday to Sunday.

Home Location:

Fortescue Road, Cambridge, England, CB4 2JS- 3 miles from the city centre.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Deliver care in the home, to ensure continuous assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of residents' care.
• Assist residents during meal times ensuring they receive meals that are suitable.
• Assist with and participate in all activities provided within the home to promote person centred care.
• Attend and complete all training and qualifications (statutory, mandatory and developmental).

Training, Skills & Experience Required

• A passion for care – we're looking for a genuinely caring individual who will put the needs of our residents first.
• Experience in a Care position and being NVQ/QCF Level 2 Diplomas in Health & Social Care qualified is highly desirable - but we can support you to achieve all qualifications required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an enthusiastic and positive attitude.
