Job description

Care and Support Worker – Flexible Hours for Parents

Looking for work that fits around the school run?

Are you a parent looking for meaningful part-time work that fits around your children's school hours and family commitments?

We offer flexible care and support opportunities that can work around the school day. Whether you're available after the morning school run, during school hours, or after the afternoon school run, we can discuss shifts that suit your availability.

With shifts ranging from 1-hour visits to up to 20 hours per week, you can choose hours that work for you and your family.

About the Role

As a Care and Support Worker, you will support people to remain independent and continue living safely and comfortably in their own homes.

Your role may include:

  • Providing companionship and emotional support
  • Supporting clients with personal care and daily routines
  • Helping with household tasks
  • Supporting shopping, appointments and community activities
  • Encouraging clients to remain independent and make their own choices
  • Supporting clients to stay connected with family, friends and their community
  • Helping clients do more of the things that matter to them

You may support people who require assistance because of illness, injury, mobility or memory difficulties, chronic conditions or other circumstances that make everyday activities more challenging.

Why This Role Works for Parents

We understand that family commitments are important. Our flexible working arrangements can help you work while continuing to manage your family responsibilities.

This role can offer:

  • Flexible hours around the school run
  • Opportunities to work after dropping children off and finish in time for collection
  • Weekend or additional hours if you choose
  • The opportunity to choose shifts that fit your availability
  • Meaningful work within your local community
  • Training and opportunities to develop new skills
  • The opportunity to make a genuine difference to people's lives

You don't need to be available every day. We can discuss a working pattern that works around your family commitments and the needs of our clients.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for people who are:

  • Caring, compassionate and respectful
  • Reliable and responsible
  • Patient and understanding
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Able to commit to agreed shifts
  • Willing to learn and complete the required training
  • Legally entitled to work in the UK
  • Previous care experience is welcome but not essential. Full training and support will be provided.
  • For driving roles, you will need a full UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle.
Where You'll Work

This is a community-based role, supporting clients in their own homes or sheltered housing accommodation.

You will be part of a team helping people to live independently, remain connected to their communities and continue doing the things that matter to them.
