Job description

We are Looking for a Clinical Research Fellow to join us on a 24-month fixed term contract, to participate in a wide range of cardiology research activity within the cardiac department at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital and the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre.

  • Works towards MD / PhD thesis submission within 2 / 3 year period of research
  • Interventional fellow responsible for the STEMI clinical trial programme or the OHCA registry and clinical programme as well as all other interventional cardiology studies.
  • Active participation (recruitment, procedure, data collection) in research studies of the department
  • Produce academic papers and abstracts
  • Providing and receiving information regarding current clinical trials, which contain highly complex, sensitive or contentious data and information.
  • Providing teaching and education of current trials and act as a resource to personnel and staff involved with clinical trials.
  • Attending local, regional and national meetings related to specific trials. To make representations to such meetings as necessary according to the needs of the service.
