Overview

Our HR Apprenticeship Team is looking to employ a Corporate Apprentice (Level 3) to contribute to our HR Service. Although this role will be based at County Hall, Atlantic Wharf, Cardiff, CF10 4UW, it will involve working online from home and/or a mix of home and office (hybrid) working.

Responsibilities
  • Be the first point of contact for internal and external customer enquiries, providing information and accurate and effective administration.
  • Help source unpaid work experience opportunities across the Council and provide administration support to our Apprenticeship and Engagement Events programmes to promote varied career paths and the Council as an employer.
  • Assist with organising and attending events and develop a network of professional contacts.
  • Use a variety of IT applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint and other organisational systems.
What you will learn and do
  • Gain a general understanding of the role of the Human Resources (HR) department, including Talent and Engagement activities, HR policies and processes, learning and development, data management, and the wider work of other HR teams.
  • Depending on progress, contribute to drafting written articles, artwork, social media content or technology updates in this apprentice role.
Development and Support
  • To support your development, undertake a Welsh Government Apprenticeship Framework Qualification in Digital Skills for Business Level 3 in the role.
  • Receive on-the-job training and supervision to help deliver an efficient and effective service in a positive and customer-focused manner.
  • Be supported by your manager and a named mentor who will encourage development of transferable skills to support career progression.
