Job summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is advertising a Band 5 Staff Nurse role in the Cardiac and Thoracic Critical Care Unit (CTCCU) at the Oxford Heart Centre. The unit provides level two/three care after cardiac, major aortic and thoracic surgery, and acute cardiac conditions.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current practice registration.
• Degree in nursing recognised in the UK.
• Ongoing professional development and NMC revalidation.
• NMC teaching/mentoring qualification.
• Post-graduate qualification in area of practice.
• NMC mentorship qualification achievement.

Responsibilities

• Ventilation management.
• Management of specialised cardiac medications.
• Renal replacement therapy.
• Managing post-operative pain.
• Sedation management.

Education

Registered Nurse (Part 1, 8, 12 or 15 of register depending on area of practice)

UK recognised Degree in Nursing relevant to post

Evidence of ongoing professional development through maintenance of an ongoing NMC revalidation

Hold a recognised NMC qualification in teaching and mentoring

Post-graduate qualification related to an area of practice

Evidence of achievement on a Nursing and Midwifery, (NMC) approved Mentorship qualification
