Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks a Patient Care Technician to support the patient care team on the Cardiovascular Care Unit at St. Mary’s Healthcare in Grand Junction, Colorado.

The role includes basic patient care, data recording, telemetry as needed, and collaboration with RNs to ensure quality outcomes. Requirements include a current Colorado CNA license and BLS certification, plus solid computer literacy and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Current CNA license in Colorado
• BLS certification for healthcare providers
• Basic computer literacy skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Preferred: prior CNA experience or healthcare experience
• Enrollment in nursing school is a plus

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and deliver basic patient care (toileting, bathing, linen/clothing changes, hydration, ambulation, comfort) with excellent customer service.
• Report and document patient care findings in a timely manner; notify of changes and seek qualified assistance.
• May perform telemetry duties and function as a patient care attendant on unit.
• Transport medications from the delivery system to the RN as required.
• Collaborate with RN and interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care.
• May assume Health Unit Coordinator responsibilities (phones, orders, unit records, supplies).
• Implement plan of care as delegated; perform duties within scope and standards.
• Maintain safety by following policies and emergency action steps.
