Job description
Cardiac Rehabilitation Deputy Lead Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced cardiac nurse to join our Cardiac Health and Rehabilitation programme based in Charing Cross Hospital as part of the Imperial Healthcare Cardiovascular Health Services.

The Service provides care to patients who have been discharged from hospital and are attending the cardiac health and rehabilitation programme. It includes patients with cardiac disease, heart failure as well as those with a implantable cardioverter-defibrillator.

Imperial Healthcare NHS Trust, the UK's first academic health sciences centre, provides an internationally renowned tertiary cardiology and cardiothoracic clinical service and has a strong track record in both clinical and basic sciences research. For this challenging and fulfilling post we are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic individual with sound knowledge and understanding of the prevention and management of cardiovascular disease.

You will be a Registered Nurse with post registration experience including cardiac experience at senior level preferably in both cardiology and cardiothoracics. You will also have experience of working within a cardiac rehabilitation setting or be very enthusiastic about this area of work. You will be self motivated, possess good organisational skills, and be able to work alone and as part of a team.

Main duties of the job
  • In conjunction with the Lead Nurse and the multi-skilled cardiac health and rehabilitation team you will be responsible for the continuing development of the service, as well as assessing and managing a caseload of patients and participating in the Cardiac classes.
  • The post holder will also act as a resource to other professionals on cardiovascular disease and associated treatments and issues.
  • You will be taking part in ongoing audit and research activities to maintain quality care provision.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will need to be committed to sharing of good practice, development of robust professional networks and support of colleagues.
