Cardiac Radiographer

Manchester Royal Infirmary part of the Greater Manchester Cardiac services, between sites have 9 Cath labs and a transplant biopsy suite (3 labs located at Manchester Royal Infirmary)

We are looking for an enthusiastic radiographer keen to expand their knowledge of Catheter Lab procedures. The role will be mainly based at the Oxford Road site, with rotation to the Oxford Road site. Full training, support and induction packages will be provided for this.

Involvement in our busy lucrative on call Primary PCI service is expected. This is locally agreed with enhanced pay and compensatory rest planned in.

As radiographers we sit very much within the multidisciplinary team within the catheter labs, working closely together with Medical, nursing, and physiologist colleagues, supporting each other whilst providing high quality care to our patients.

Main duties of the job

The Catheter Laboratory suite forms part of the Manchester Heart Centre Cardiology service. It is one of the busiest in the country. We provide a busy 24/7 Primary Angioplasty Service covering the Greater Manchester geographical area.

We are a leading Trust and cover the whole portfolio of procedures including angiography, angioplasty, CTO, TAVI, Mitraclips, PFO, complex pacing and a varied range of electrophysiology procedures.

As a Cardiac Specialist Centre applicants will be expected to take part in a busy on call system.

Communication and the ability to be a team player are essential in helping provide a safe effective service in what is a fast paced technical role.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • BSc (Radiography) or equivalent
  • Evidence of advanced imaging studies. Ideally this should be postgraduate PgC/PgD level, but demonstration of equivalent level, non‑formal study via Evidence of formal post graduate study an advantage
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years post graduate experience in all areas of general radiography.
