Job summary

Meeveem Limited is seeking a newly graduated cardiac Physiologist to join a multidisciplinary team delivering invasive and non-invasive cardiac investigations and a respiratory service including sleep studies and lung function testing. You will work under national and local protocols to provide efficient, high-quality patient care.

The role spans echocardiography, pacemaker/respiratory diagnostics and ambulatory monitoring with emphasis on accurate reporting and device management.

Qualifications

  • BSc Cardiac Physiologist or equivalent.
  • RCCP or equivalent.
  • Evidence of competencies outlined in the job description.
  • ILS / ALS
  • Demonstrate undergraduate training via log books or other methods.
  • Able to perform/investigate wide range of non-invasive and invasive Cardiac investigations.

Responsibilities

  • Tailor role within the team by agreement with the manager according to interests and service needs (e.g., echocardiography, pacemakers and/or respiratory diagnostics).
  • Undertake ambulatory monitor application including ECG, BP and event recorders.
  • Download and analyse recordings, produce reports and act without immediate supervision.
  • Perform full lung function testing, reversibility studies, overnight oximetry and produce reports.
  • Maintain, calibrate and care for respiratory equipment.
  • Perform medically supervised cardiac physiology procedures including ETT, monitoring and recovery assessment.
  • Gain competency in head up tilt testing, equipment management and reporting.
  • Monitor and record haemodynamic measurements during cardiac catheterisation.
  • Assist with implantation of cardiac devices and perform post-implant checks under supervision.

Job description

Job summary

This is a post suitable for a newly graduated cardiac Physiologist. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team to provide a wide range of invasive and non-invasive cardiac investigations. The department also provides a respiratory service performing overnight oximetry, 5-channel sleep studies, spirometry, FENO testing and full lung function testing. We aim to provide an effective and efficient service. You will work to both national and local protocols and guidelines.

Main duties of the job
  • The post holder can tailor their role within the team by agreement with the manager according to their own interests and balanced with the needs of the service. i.e, echocardiography, pacemakers and/or respiratory diagnostics.
  • Undertake ambulatory monitor application including ECG, BP and event recorders. Ensuring device is appropriately applied and optimal recording gained.
  • Download and analyse recordings, make comprehensive reports and take appropriate action without immediate supervision.
  • Perform full lung function testing, reversibility studies, overnight oximetry and produce appropriate and technically accurate reports.
  • Ensure maintenance, calibration, and general care of respiratory equipment.
  • Perform medically supervised and cardiac physiologist led ETT, monitoring and assessing recovery. Perform same within Nuclear imaging and exercise.
  • Become competent in head up tilt testing, managing equipment and reporting findings.
  • Monitor and record hemodynamic measurements during cardiac catheterisation.
  • Assist with the implantation of a range of cardiac devices. Perform post implant checks and optimal programming for the specific individual under the supervision of the lead cardiac physiologist

  • BHRS/BSE Accreditation

  • Knowledge and experience of ICD and CRT implantation and follow up
  • Perform and report transthoracic echocardiography.
